History[]
Despite Eyeke being a close facsimile of planet Earth (before mankind decimated it), it harbours a number of large predatory land-, water- and air-borne flora & fauna. Early Human colonists, whilst prepared as well as possible to deal with potential existential threats to their community-building efforts, found particular predators hard to deal with owing to greatly toughened skin, and in some cases impregnable exoskeletons.
The spiritual sect of Greys inhabiting Eyeke, upon seeing the plight of the Human colonists, offered to trade them a cache of weapons made of a hard, durable mineral they called Waxon. The colonists were sceptical at first, but after one of the Grey monks demonstrated the razor sharpness of one of the swords on the toughened shell of an unfortunate pet teleportoise (R.I.P Terry), they agreed to a deal.
Waxon is hard to find, let alone mine, and the Greys have remained secretive about the specific processes they use to turn it into weapons and other useful items. Waxon Swords are occasionally brought for use in Battledome matches, the shimmering white-blue of their blades making for a beautiful light show during combat. However, beforehand the edges must be coated in a special compound that dulls them to the point where they cannot cause fatal wounds.
